Ladies of the Creek Free Bookmobile

In 2020, Kristin Thrower, H.S. Librarian and Lisa Signorelli, M.S. Reading Specialist in Chesterfield County, Virginia started a Free Bookmobile.
Our Story
On September 11, 2020, Ms.Thrower, Librarian at Meadowbrook H.S. and Ms. Signorelli, Reading Specialist at Falling Creek M.S. attended the book giveaway at the main branch of Goodwill. While digging through books, they talked about various books and how much they loved the The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek. We decided that day to start our own bookmobile and on September 23, 2020, we headed out into the community, books in our cars' trunks, set-up our tables, and the FCMS/MBK Bookmobile was born.
In June 2021, the school district gifted us a cargo van and the name was changed to Ladies of the Creek Free Bookmobile to honor the book that started it all.
